Kapuas River
Kapuas is the longest river in Indonesia. The length is reaching up to 1,142 meters with the width ranging from 400-700 meters. 300 species of fish inhabits this place. This river becomes the main pathway of trading and transportation in Pontianak. Kapuas Besar market is also located in this river. The best time to experience the hustle and bustle of this traditional market is at 5 am to 8 am.
Location:
From Pontianak, to trace this river, visitor could go through Jalan Gajah Mada and then take the public transportation to Tanjung Hilir. The stopping point for visitors is at Kadriyan Palace.
